Counseling and Mental Health Services
 
SCC & SFCC counseling faculty work with you to offer support and direction with your educational, personal, and professional goals. Counselors also may provide short-term mental health counseling for a variety of challenges.

  • Suicide Prevention
    • First Call for Help: (509) 838-4428 or 1-877-678-4428 24 hour crisis line Emergency services are available to all individuals

  • Drug and Alcohol Assessment:
    • Adept Assessment and Treatment: (509) 327-3120 Costs $50 and takes 1.5 - 2 hours for assessment
    • Daybreak: (509) 927-1991 Costs $170 and takes 2 hours for assessment
      This program is only for minors 18 years old and younger
    • DSHS: 1-877-501-2233 Funding through ADATSA, can pay if you are homeless, jobless, and have used in last 90 days. Submit an application at www.washingtonconnection.org
  • Drug and Alcohol Support
    • Community Detox Service of Spokane (509) 838-2771 Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for both adults and adolescents. Provides sobering, detoxification and referral to treatment for persons suffering from alcoholism and other forms of chemical dependency.
    • Washington Recovery Helpline (866) 789-1511 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Inland Empire Meth Alliance (208) 659-2839 Focuses on the education and support for family and friends of meth addicts.
    • Spokane Addiction Recovery Center (509) 624-3251 Provides Inpatient, outpatient, there is a service charge, fees vary.

  • DV and Anger Management Treatment
    • STOP: (509) 326-5172 Anger management assessments for $95, takes 2-3 hours, DV treatment services
    • St Joseph Family Center: (509) 483-6495 Provides free anger management resolution classes
  • Community Counseling Services:
    • Spokane Mental Health-Frontier Behavioral Health: (509) 838-4651 Accepts Crisis walk-ins at 107 S Division, no insurance or payment required. Only accepts Medicaid for non-crisis standard therapy services.
    • Lutheran Community Services: (509) 747-8224 Free counseling for victims of DV or sexual abuse
    • St. Joseph's: (509) 483-6495 Has a sliding fee scale ($15 - $85) for short-term counseling
    • Catholic Charities Counseling: (509) 242-2308 Sliding Fee Scale ($5-$125) also accepts Medicaid
    • Veteran's Affairs Medical Center: (509) 434-7288 Provides outpatient, psychiatric and counseling services to veterans.
  • Homeless Assistance
    • Catholic Charities: (509) 358-4250 Provides hot meals, year-round sleeping program, clothing room, laundry facilities, mail delivery, and showers.
  • Emergency Childcare
    • Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery: (509) 535-3155 24 hour nursery, free for up to 72 hours. Best to call at 7:00 AM for intake. Allows sick children but not extremely high temperatures or extreme medical conditions.
  • Sexual Assault and Family Trauma
