CCS Online

SCC's GED Online Program

How it works

SCC’s GED Online program prepares students to pass the new GED test, Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Students are assessed in the program and are assigned a series of lessons in specific content areas: Practice tests within the program help determine student readiness for the GED test.

Extra Help

Other online programs and material are integrated into the curriculum to further students’ comprehension. For example, there is a personalized Khan Academy class with lessons assigned by the instructor.  Outside of class, a student could make an appointment to meet the teacher via Skype for a short one-on-one session. Students are also welcome to come into the GED classroom for extra help at the Magnuson Building near SFCC.

Class requirements:

  • Log in for a minimum of 5 hours per week.
  • Access to a computer. Cell phones do not work well.

How long does it take?

Student progress towards the tests depends on the student’s abilities when he or she enrolled, and it depends on the amount of time and effort a student spends studying.

When can I start?

SCC GED Online is an “open enrollment” class which allows students to begin at any time during the SCC Academic Calendar.

$25 per quarter. Students who begin the middle of Winter Quarter, for example, will have to pay tuition again at the start of Spring Quarter if they wish to continue.
